The Kinner’s have welcomed a daughter and sister into our family.
She actually came to us a little over two months ago, but we needed to wait until legalities were settled prior to saying anything publicly. We want to be sure in this process the birth mother is honored for the brave choice she has made.
Joslyn Marie Kinner was born, June 13th, 2012 at 8:13 am. She weighed 7lbs 9ozs and was a happy and healthy 19 inches long. Josi was also an instant snuggler!
We know there will be many questions, some we won’t be able to answer due to the sensitive nature of the adoption process. However, there are a few things we can discuss. First off, Josi and Paul are not biological siblings. Meaning they have differing birth mothers. They act, look and relate to each other like all brothers and sisters do.
Some of you may know we were in the midst of working through an international adoption (from Ethiopia). We placed this process on hold when Josi came into our lives. We do not know when we will resume that process. We would like one of the kids to be out of diapers before we have three children!
God has chosen to build our family through adoption and it’s a beautiful process. We love our children in the same way all parents love their kids. We are less concerned about the past biological history of our children than the wonderful future God has for us together as a family.
If you have questions on adoption, or our family, please email us and we will respond. Sometimes questions asked in public places or in front of the kids are awkward. We’d appreciate the ability to respond more privately to adoption questions.
Our kids are not our “adopted kids”. They are just “our kids”. The means by which they came to be our children doesn’t define the level of love and commitment we have for them.
Since the process has been long with Joslyn we have not had a baby shower. When information on the shower becomes available we will post it here. Thank you dear friends and family for your prayers and support.
Thank you for helping us welcome our daughter into our home and heart.
We love you all very much,
Chris, Dayna, Paul and Josi Kinner
