When my son yells “ME!”

Paul is the best. Other parents may disagree with me, but trust me when I tell you my son is number one. This morning I was inspired by him and it drove me into a deep and wonderful time of prayer.

As I came home from a breakfast he ran to me yelling “ME!”

It’s what he says when when you say his name. He also says it and points to trucks, because he wants to be driving them. Sometimes he just gets to laughing and enjoys being Paul. Those are my favorite moments, when he says “Me” because he is enjoying being himself.

As a parent it brings me great joy when I see my son being happy about who he is.

The great Psalmist David understood this dynamic as a child of God. He put it this way in song.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” -Psalm 139:23-24

In other words, David said “ME!” to God.
Look on ME! Search ME! cleanse ME! Love ME! Lead Me!

As God’s children He wants us happy. We can truly be that way if we point to the Father and say “ME!” I want to be in you Father.

My prayer today while pointing to the Father. “ME!”
Words don’t need to be long or deep to make a Father smile.

Let’s GO!
